Today's been a pretty okay day... in a good way.
I woke up this morning to go to my Target interview. Well Christie (who was one of my managers last summer) is now the entry person in the back. There is another girl named Melanie who will be working in Christie's place when she is out for maternity leave (and wearing all the Liz Lange clothes... HA!). Christie couldn't believe someone would schedule interviews for today (and there were two interviews after mine too) so Melanie interviewed me. It went okay, but I would still need another interview after this and a drug test and all that.
After that I bought some fruit (Target actually has good bagged fruit) and then went to the Dollar store. I picked up some cute stuff for Bible school (you are bringing all your kids, aren't you) for abou $7 then came home to work on some wall hangings and have a Gardenburger for lunch. I finished reading a novel and then my cell phone rang. I've been waiting for this realtor to call (my mom might move into my neighborhood and this guy has like 7 homes for rent). Instead, it's PAPA JOHNS! I was crushed because earlier this week I called and the guy said that there were no openings. Turns out one of his drivers for the summer quit! And he had hours during the week! Could it be any better! I love driving and I love Papa Johns and I love having my weekends (well at least Saturdays!). Hallelujah! God blesses.

--EDIT-- I got a job!  I start Monday.  30 hours, split shifts during the week.  AWESOME!!

And I still have yet to hear about summer school. Maybe I can do summer school and pizza on the side. Awesome!
Well I go talk to the manager at 3pm then after that I am going to the church to finish up some stuff and started decorating for BiBlE ScHoOl. Can you tell I'm excited!!!!

Catch ya later... the Kellster

PS I updated two days in a row... I must be bored

I think I am addicted to Craig's list (charlotte.craigslist.org). The thing is, since school has gotten out (and really, well before that) I have been trying to find a job. I have a harder and harder time each summer finding a temporary job (I have an interview with Target tomorrow but I"m not feeling it this time). I have applied with so many places and no luck. Anyway I discovered you can advertise on Craig's list FOR FREE so I advertised myself (as a child care provider/tutor/receptionist). I will really love it if someone actually hires me for something. I was going to say "Young lady will do anything for $8" but imagine what people would do with that ad. HA!

It's been just about 6 months since my last post. I guess a lot has happened since then. A new semester started (and finished!). It went pretty well. I think I have a pretty good idea of what I will focus on last year. Bozeman gave me the go ahead on having an advanced ensemble for next year that will meet all year. So all you chorus teachers out there... you'll probably see me at All-County, District, and who can forget... Carowinds!!!! Hopefully my "nasty" children won't come out for my class next year. I don't think I am getting the same room next year either. I am kind of bummed but the change might be nice... I just think about teachers that are at the same school forever and they have the same room forever... this will be the 3rd room I've had in only 2 years of teaching!!! Anyway next year my focuses will be on technique, sight-singing, respect, and music history and appreciation. It should be a blast!

Church has gone well too... we installed Pastor Diane last Sunday... it was a really nice service. We are still trying to feel our way with the contemporary service and stuff. I am having a time trying to keep the choir motivated. We can't find a time where everyone can come. The music committee changed the choir time without consulting anyone in the choir, really. At least I have VBS and Children's choir to look forward to! If anyone with young kids is interested in Vacation Bible School, it is this Friday from 6:00-8:00 and Saturday from 9:00-4:00. Email me if you need directions!

Okay, the news everyone has been asking about... Chad and I have been members of LA Weight Loss for about a month. My goal is to lose 35 lbs and I've nearly lost 12 lbs.!!! I am so excited. I feel so good and my clothes are already fitting better. I'll start posting pics if I ever get any!!!!

By the way my niece is getting married a week from Saturday! Yay Elise!

I am considering blogging with Myspace... thoughts anyone??

Well, it's been over two months since my last entry.  Did you miss me?!  A lot has happened in those two months.  Nothing really significant happened in October.  I didn't work a single Friday in November (LoL).  November 8th was my birthday, which we celebrated by going to Joels Asian Grill (yummy!).  We had sushi and fish and I got sick that night (not food poisoning though...).  In fact I was sick most of the week.  The next week I received notification from my principal that I had a week to change rooms.  Luckily I was going to a larger room, with a heating/air conditioning unit that worked, and it was inside the building, closer to the bathrooms and the administrator, etc.  Much better for me, so I didn't mind and I was ecstatic.  I was moving because they wanted to keep all the 6th grade English teachers together and my room was adjacent to the other 6th grade English teachers.  I didn't care, I was out of the dungeon!

November 18th we left for Adam and Amanda's wedding in NJ.  We got lost a couple of times and chucked out close to $20 in tolls.  Plus the hotel was kind of weird.  But the wedding was nice and the food (and champagne!) was good.  The trip back was good too.  Congrats guys!

During the whole month of November my kids prepared for their concert.  The concert was December 8th and they sounded lovely!  Meanwhile my church choir's Christmas cantata was December 18.  The choir sounded good but the CD messed up and embarrassed us all.  Luckily I could play the piano part.  Church is still going well, Christmas Eve and Christmas services were nice.  During the season of Epiphany (which takes place between Jan. 6 and Lent) we will be moving toward a more contemporary feel in our service.  Ya'll have to come check it out!

School got out on December 20, and since I hit a deer the night before we left for the wedding I (still) don't have a car.  I walked to Walmart to buy Christmas presents last week (which was fun), and this week my brother and husband have been driving me around.  I've had fun playing video games and just plain being lazy.  I think I decided that if it were more feasible, I wouldn't have a car period and would walk everywhere.  Not feasible though!  Next week we start school back and I start my new office hours at the church (I have to work longer on Sundays, and start being in the office on Mondays, and of course rehearsals on Wednesdays).  All my kids are doing for the last two weeks of the semester are making music videos.  I wish the new semester would start already!  I have so many new ideas to make this next half of the year go so much more smoothly!

Well I think I am going to go.  I'm researching lesson plans and I think Chad and I are going to play some video games.  Tomorrow is our anniversary, but we are short on cash (due to a bank error, they lost my Nov. paycheck, it'll be a week before I can get a new one) so we are just going to hang around here and relax.  Today we ate year old wedding cake with my mom.  It wasn't bad!  Have a good night and a happy new year (and still have a Merry Christmas!  It lasts till Jan. 5).  ~Kelly

I can't do any work at home.. this sux. All I want to do is play on myspace. Who ever knew stalking other people could be so much fun?? LoL just kidding. Seriously though I'm trying to get these lesson plans done but I keep getting distracted. Now I understand why the computers at school have these super powerful web blockers... So I can't play!!! Oh well, maybe I'll get something done before bedtime. Ciao!
